This course explains the benefits of a central monitoring environment. You will be introduced to the technique of connecting remote systems to your central
monitoring system and how to create your own monitors.  Later on you will see how to monitor components that are not monitored by default.

You will understand the concept of property variants and see how these will be used to transport threshold settings and method assignments to other (remote) SAP systems. Finally you will see how you can configure local auto reaction methods, so that each monitored SAP system can raise and handle “alert situations.

Hint: Additional topics will be covered in course: ADM107 – SAP System Monitoring Using CCMS II
If it is possible for you, it is recommended to go through ADM107 as soon as possible as a follow-up to ADM106.
The split between ADM106 and the new course ADM107 has been made because this was the most convenient way to offer the knowledge of ADM107 to customers that already attended ADM106 some time in the past.

For people new to the topic of SAP System Monitoring we strongly recommend to attend ADM106 and ADM107 as close together as possible.
Hint: ADM106 does not aim to give details on monitoring AS Java-based applications, instead this course focuses on monitoring topics for AS
ABAP-based SAP systems. Therefore the knowledge presented here is applicable for many different solutions based on SAP Basis 4.0 and higher.
